GapStudio Debuts Menswear for the Holidays

Zac Posen waves to fans during his runway show

Building on the foundation established in the Fall collection, the new season evolves the brand’s modern interpretation of ’90s ease, characterized by rich textures, precise tailoring, and fluid proportions.

As the Fashion Network reports, the collection is inspired by iconic couple muses and designed for both men and women, with several shared, gender-inclusive styles, blending timeless silhouettes with bold textures and luxe fabrications. According to Zac Posen, Gap Inc. EVP and Creative Director, “Menswear has been part of the conversation since GapStudio’s inception. When we created a custom look for Timothée Chalamet that sold out almost instantly, it confirmed there was real appetite for this level of design and craftsmanship from Gap.”

Posen continues, “We’ve made bespoke pieces for Michael B. Jordan and Owen Cooper, and continued to see men gravitating toward our gender-inclusive styles, like the moto jacket from our first drop. The new menswear collection builds on that energy—refined, confident, and rooted in the same modern sensibility that defines GapStudio.”  Posen has been installed at Gap for close to two years now—though this marks the first time his remit has included a full-blown menswear collection. Prior to now, Posen’s bespoke GapStudio men’s pieces had appeared on red-carpet luminaries like Timotheé Chalamet but were woefully hard to find on the shelves. No longer.

Fittingly, GapStudio’s inaugural menswear collection iterates on Posen’s specific brand of retro glamor, from lustrous satin tailoring to flared corduroy pants with a distinctly Boogie Nights energy. Slinky wide-neck tees, styled under a razor-sharp double-breasted blazer or a pavement-skipping camel topcoat, recall the best of ’90s minimalism, while an indulgent vegan-leather fur-lined coat simultaneously stands out and ties everything together.

Key pieces in the menswear debut include corduroy baggy trousers, a reimagined white poplin shirt, double-breasted and tailored blazers, tuxedo vests, and boot trousers, as well as a blue chambray shirt paired with a skinny tie.  The brand also revisits that sought-after custom look for Timothée Chalamet with a new satin icon jacket and ’90s loose satin pant in camel hair. Other standout pieces include a double-weave blazer with matching bootcut trousers, a navy corduroy icon jacket paired with bootcut jeans, and a reversible bonded faux-fur car coat that elevates winter layering.

You can head over to the Gap website to scope out Posen’s vision in its entirety. But you’d better hurry – word is this collection is already selling out!
