Snell’s Gem Anchors Dodgers’ Narrow 2–1 Win in NLCS Game 1

Blake Snell delivered a commanding performance in Game 1 of the 2025 National League Championship Series, shutting down the Milwaukee Brewers over eight innings and setting the tone for a hard-fought 2–1 Dodgers victory. Snell allowed just one hit, struck out ten, and issued zero walks — a postseason masterpiece that immediately reinforced why the Dodgers invested heavily to bring him aboard.

The lone Milwaukee baserunner was picked off, making the outing all the more dominant. Offensively, Los Angeles got their first break in the sixth inning when Freddie Freeman launched a solo home run to break the scoreless tie. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, Mookie Betts drew a walk to pad the lead to 2–0. Milwaukee mounted a fierce rally in the bottom of the ninth — scoring once and loading the bases — but Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen struck out Brice Turang with the bases full to seal the win.

Game 1 also featured a bizarre 8-6-2 double play by the Brewers in the fourth inning, turning what almost became a grand slam for Los Angeles into a defensive gem. The Dodgers now carry momentum into Game 2, buoyed by Snell’s brilliance and a clutch bullpen finish.
