For the 2025 CMA Awards, three female artists are turning heads — Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, and Lainey Wilson each clinched six nominations, tying for the most nods among all contenders. Their prominence marks more than award recognition — it signals a growing shift in country music’s spotlight toward women.
Langley’s nominations span Female Vocalist, New Artist, Single, Song, and Musical Event of the Year, powered largely by her duet “You Look Like You Love Me” with Riley Green. Moroney is being lauded for her breakout project Am I Okay?, while Wilson, already a household name, pushes forward with nods for Whirlwind and her hit “4x4xU.”
This trio’s dominance in nominations spotlights an evolving industry landscape. For too long, women in country have striven for balance in radio play, festival lineups, and awards consideration. Their surge now reflects both audience appetite and institutional change.
That said, nominations don’t guarantee wins, and many eyes will be on how the CMAs respond. But regardless of trophies, Langley, Moroney, and Wilson have already made their mark — not just as nominees, but as harbingers of a more inclusive country stage.
