Rob Halford Quietly Ties the Knot with Partner of Over 30 Years

Metal music icon Rob Halford of Judas Priest has revealed that he and his longtime partner, Thomas, officially married in 2024 in a simple, intimate ceremony. After more than three decades together, the couple decided to make it official in a ceremony set “by the cactus outside,” with only a few witnesses in attendance.

In a candid interview on the Queer the Music podcast, Halford shared how the decision unfolded during a nighttime walk. Thomas surprised him by suggesting marriage, to which Halford responded by immediately arranging an officiant. The ceremony reportedly included just four people: the couple, a minister, and two close friends.

Reflecting on the significance of the union, Halford explained that while a marriage certificate doesn’t define a relationship, formalizing their bond felt like a meaningful milestone—“you’ve completed something in your relationship.” He also acknowledged that after so many years together, the decision made sense when it was mutually embraced.

Halford continues to tour with Judas Priest (on a co-headlining run with Alice Cooper), and this personal milestone adds a deeply human dimension to his legacy as “The Metal God”—one rooted not only in music but in love, identity, and authenticity.
