Brandi Carlile’s Soulful Return: Returning to Myself Rises This Fall

After a four‑year solo hiatus, Brandi Carlile makes a triumphant return with her latest album, Returning to Myself, scheduled for release on October 24, 2025, via Interscope alongside the revitalized Americana imprint Lost Highway.

The announcement arrived hand‑in‑hand with the release of the title track and its compelling music video, directed by the visionary Floria Sigismondi.

Carlile enlisted an impressive roster of co‑producers, including Andrew Watt, Aaron Dessner of The National, and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. She’s joined by longtime collaborators—the Hanseroth Twins—as well as SistaStrings, drummers Matt Chamberlain and Chad Smith, and keyboardist Josh Klinghoffer.

Among the album’s ten tracks is “Joni,” a heartfelt tribute to Joni Mitchell, and a refreshed take on “You Without Me,” her previously released collaboration with Elton John.

Reflecting on the album’s deeply personal direction, Carlile shares, “I wanted to make something that was undeniably and willfully me,” speaking to a creative rebirth anchored in both vulnerability and strength. Inspired by Emmylou Harris’ Wrecking Ball, Returning to Myself promises to be a resonant exploration of identity, resilience, and artistry.
