Lil Baby’s “My Turn” Crowns Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums of the 21st Century

In a major nod to lasting influence, Lil Baby’s 2020 breakthrough My Turn has officially been voted the top R&B/Hip-Hop album of the 21st century, according to Billboard’s comprehensive rankings—a list that spans chart performance from 2000 through 2024.

The album’s success is well-earned: its deluxe version and a string of hit singles propelled My Turn to spend six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Remarkably, by March 2022 it became the first record to rack up 100 weeks in the chart’s Top 10, and by 2024 it had tallied 128 weeks—a feat no male artist had achieved before.

Billboard’s top 10 list also includes heavy-hitters like Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city (No. 2), Drake’s Take Care, SZA’s SOS, Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding, Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN., The Weeknd’s The Highlights, J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive, and Juice WRLD’s Goodbye & Good Riddance.

This recognition underscores how My Turn not only dominated during its initial release but also became a streaming powerhouse—resonating with fans over years and redefining what a modern hip-hop classic can achieve.
