Morgan Wallen Opts Out: I’m the Problem Won’t Be Submitted for 2026 Grammys

In a surprising move, country superstar Morgan Wallen has declined to submit his massive fourth album, I’m the Problem, for Grammy consideration in 2026. According to multiple reports, the album—and none of its 37 tracks—will be part of this year’s Recording Academy submissions.

The decision reflects Wallen’s pattern of playing by his own rules. His album, unleashed in May, shattered records—claiming multiple weeks atop the Billboard 200, spawning chart-topping singles like “Love Somebody” and “What I Want,” and featuring chart-climbing collaborations with Post Malone and Tate McRae.

Despite the album’s runaway success, Wallen’s relationship with awards shows—especially the Grammys—remains complicated. He earned his first nominations in 2024 but did not take home any trophies. With this bold “no, thank you” gesture, he’s reinforcing the notion that his priorities lie in reaching fans directly, not chasing trophy validation.

Ultimately, Wallen’s move raises questions about where commercial dominance meets institutional acknowledgment—and who gets to decide what counts.
