Reba McEntire Mourns Stepson Brandon Blackstock with Poignant Tribute

Country music legend Reba McEntire has broken her silence following the passing of her former stepson, Brandon Blackstock, who died from melanoma at age 48. In a heartfelt Instagram post featuring tender photos, McEntire referred to Brandon as her “stepson/oldest son,” expressing deep gratitude for their shared memories. “His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence,” she wrote. “His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.”

Reba also responded emotionally to a tribute by her biological son, Shelby Blackstock, who honored Brandon as an irreplaceable figure, describing him as “funny, bright, and full of life.” McEntire commented: “Very well said Shelby. Yes we will miss him so much.”

The outpouring of public support included condolences from fellow artists such as Wynonna Judd, Hillary Scott, and Kristin Chenoweth, underscoring the deep love and respect held for Brandon.

Amid the grief, the family has asked for privacy as they mourn the loss of a beloved husband, brother, father, and friend whose enduring warmth and humor touched so many.
