The 2025 MTV VMAs Are Here: See Who’s Leading the Pack

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards are shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet, with Lady Gaga leading the nominations pack with 12 nods — her third time topping the list. The pop icon scored recognition across major categories, including Video of the Year and Artist of the Year, largely for her explosive duet with Bruno Mars, “Die With A Smile.”

Hot on her heels are Bruno Mars with 11 nominations and Kendrick Lamar with 10. Rising stars Rosé and Sabrina Carpenter trail closely behind, each nabbing eight nominations, solidifying their status as pop powerhouses.

This year marks the introduction of new categories, including Best Country and Best Pop Artist, with nominees like Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX, and Tate McRae bringing diverse sounds to the spotlight.

Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are once again locked in a fierce battle for Artist of the Year, with both chasing the title of most VMA wins in history.

Fan voting is now open across 19 gender-neutral categories at vote.mtv.com until September 5. The VMAs will air live on Sunday, September 7 at 8PM ET/5PM PT on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Let the fan wars begin.
