Aaron Sorkin is officially ready to log back in. The Oscar-winning screenwriter and director is developing a follow-up to The Social Network, and insiders reveal that his top picks to lead the cast are rising stars Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White.

While no official offers have been made, sources say Sorkin is eager to cast Madison, fresh off her Oscar win for Anora, and White, who’s riding high on critical acclaim from The Bear and an upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic. The two would reportedly portray the central figures behind The Facebook Files, the explosive 2021 Wall Street Journal investigation that exposed internal controversies at Meta, formerly Facebook.

The upcoming film isn’t a direct sequel, but a spiritual continuation of the original 2010 hit. Produced by Sorkin, Todd Black, Peter Rice, and Stuart Besser, the story will pivot from Facebook’s creation to its modern-day influence—focusing on misinformation, mental health, and global impact.

Still unclear is whether Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his role as Mark Zuckerberg, though insiders hint the CEO’s role in the film may be more peripheral.

With Sorkin back at the helm, The Social Network Part II promises to be just as sharp, timely, and talked-about as its predecessor.
