Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau may have just shared a meal—but the internet is devouring every detail. The pop superstar, 40, and former Canadian prime minister, 53, were spotted dining together at Le Violon, a cozy neighborhood restaurant in Montréal, on July 28.
According to reports, the duo enjoyed cocktails, lobster dishes, and even a visit to the kitchen to personally thank Chef Danny Smiles and the staff. Their relaxed dinner comes just weeks after both announced high-profile relationship shifts—Perry from her split with Orlando Bloom, and Trudeau from his 2023 separation from wife Sophie Grégoire.
While representatives for Perry and Bloom emphasized the couple’s focus on co-parenting their daughter Daisy Dove, 4½, the timing of this new public pairing has intrigued fans. Perry recently vacationed with Bloom and the Bezos family in Italy, proving her amicable split remains just that—amicable.
Trudeau, meanwhile, has maintained a relatively low profile since stepping down and separating from Grégoire, with whom he shares three children.
There’s no official word on the nature of Perry and Trudeau’s outing—but whether it was business, pleasure, or simply a shared love of fine cuisine, their appearance together has certainly stirred curiosity on both sides of the border.
