The country music community is wrapping Scotty McCreery in love and support following heartbreaking news: the singer has lost both of his grandmothers in a single day.
On July 10, McCreery shared the emotional announcement via Instagram, writing, “My heart is absolutely broken. Yesterday, both my Grandma Janet and my Grandma Paquita passed away.” Despite the shock, he chose to focus on cherished memories—highlighting moments on the farm in Elizabeth City, poolside afternoons in Pinehurst, and family trips to Puerto Rico.
Messages of comfort poured in almost instantly. Fellow American Idol alum Lauren Alaina wrote, “Sending so much love and prayer your way,” while Haley Reinhart and Caylee Hammack expressed heartfelt condolences. Fans also flooded his post with warm wishes and prayers.
McCreery, who is expecting his second child with wife Gabi, is currently in the middle of a national tour. It remains unclear if his schedule will shift in light of the double loss.
