On June 27, Roberto Cavalli, the fashion house known the world over for its exotic prints and flamboyant, glamorous designs announced a swimwear collection collaboration with SKIMS, featuring an Italian lineup of standout swim styles and chiffon cover-ups, and it is nothing short of ferocious.
“Designed to make a statement in and out of the water,” this Roberto Cavalli x SKIMS limited-edition collection is iconic glamour meets the sculpting, modern edge of SKIMS. According to the RC website, it’s “a celebration of untamed elegance, this exclusive line redefines swimwear with exotic animal prints, daring cuts, and curve-enhancing fabrics designed to make a statement. From barely-there bikinis and striking monokinis to flowy chiffon cover-ups, each piece is made to turn heads—by the pool, at the beach, or wherever the sun finds you.”
Although Cavalli passed away in April of 2024, his successor, creative director Fausto Puglisi has carried on the torch admirably. The campaign, which features both SKIMS co-founder Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner, has had the internet abuzz ahead of the launch and the 23-piece collection will no doubt be flying off the shelves. Puglisi also raved about the reality star, calling her a “modern Marilyn Monroe” and an inspiration for his design work.
“I’ve always admired the brand’s exotic prints and bold energy, and bringing that vision to life through Skims Swim allowed us to create something truly unexpected and elevated,” Kardashian said in a press release, saying the fresh designs empower “every body to own swim season, no matter where they vacation.”
It’s far from the first time the SKIMS brand has caused major buzz with a collaboration – they’ve also had sold-out designer collabs with the likes of Fendi and Dolce & Gabbana. Roberto Cavalli x SKIMS features Kardashian’s signature supportive swimwear, chiffon cover-ups, beachwear and accessories in three archival Cavalli prints: Fagianella, Light Zebra and Tiger Face. Sizes range from XXS to 4X and prices from $68 to $228.
You can watch the campaign and shop the collection at both SKIMS and Roberto Cavalli websites.
