At a Twenty One Pilots show, the bond between the band and their Skeleton Clique fans is usually unbreakable. But at Sunday’s (May 11) concert at Manchester’s AO Arena, that trust was tested when a fan swiped a drum from the stage during the group’s signature “Trees” performance.
As Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun made their way into the crowd — a beloved tradition on the Clancy World Tour — one concertgoer was caught on video casually lifting one of Dun’s drums and walking away. “Have I just witnessed a crime?” a stunned fan said in the now-viral clip.
Despite the initial shock, the Clique quickly turned into an investigative unit. Within hours, videos and screenshots were shared across social media, helping the band’s team track down the missing drum.
By Monday, behind-the-scenes videographer Sax confirmed the good news on Instagram: “We Have The Drum!!!!!!” he wrote, posting a photo of the drum safely recovered. The crew celebrated the return with a lighthearted video, thanking fans for their help.
With just two shows left on the Clancy World Tour, Twenty One Pilots are ready to close out the epic run properly — drum in hand, and fan loyalty stronger than ever.
