The Pet Gala, to be held this year on May 18, will showcase show-stopping designs inspired by the 2026 Met Gala, recreated exclusively for dogs by renowned Pet Couturier Anthony Rubio. The event, dubbed “Pet Fashion’s Biggest Night,” benefits AKC’s Museum of the Dog.
This year’s event (with location TBA) will unfold across “three beautifully styled floors” and includes:
- 📸 Grand 24-foot red carpet and stunning flower wall
- 🌸 Multiple themed photo stations with flower walls, including features for each celebrity pup
- 🐕🦺 Full formal runway show starring couture-clad canines, with live commentary by Anthony Rubio
- 🎤 Hosted by
- 🍽️ Hors d’oeuvres in thePaw lounge with cash bar
- 🎁 Exclusive gift bag featuring a 48-page, 9×11 picture book, a collectible program of past looks
- 📷
- 🎤 A performance by Classics Millennium, a Electronical and Classical Pop Opera act by Olya Gella and Niko Klaas
As the invite states, “get ready for a one-of-a-kind evening of glamour, fashion, and four-legged stars!”
Host Anthony Rubio says, “This is my favorite time of the year. The Met Gala designers get months to create their looks — I get just two weeks to translate them for dogs. Fashion Week is my vision, but The Pet Gala is a challenge in adaptation. The dogs’ comfort and safety always come first. It pushes me to be more creative, and I absolutely thrive on it.”
While this event remains primarily invite-only, a limited number of tickets are being released to the public. If you’d like to be a part of this unforgettable night, guests are welcome to bring their well-behaved dogs, but a ticket is required. Please be sure to add a Canine Ticket to your order. Limited canine tickets available.
