Korn, the iconic nu-metal pioneers, have been hard at work on new music following their triumphant 30th anniversary tour. However, fans eager for a follow-up to 2022’s Requiem will need to be patient, as guitarist Brian “Head” Welch recently revealed the band isn’t ready to release their next album anytime soon.
New Music Timeline
In a recent interview, Welch shared that while the band has made significant progress on their upcoming album, the process is taking longer than anticipated.
“We’re very happy with what we got, but it’s just gonna take a while,” he said. “Maybe next summer, maybe next year, the next winter, I don’t know, but it’s not gonna be soon.”
This update contrasts with Welch’s earlier remarks in 2023, when he hinted at new music arriving in 2024. The delay has left fans speculating on what’s to come, as Korn remains one of the most enduring forces in modern metal.
Touring Updates
Although Korn hasn’t announced any North American tour dates for 2025, they are keeping busy with a robust festival schedule:
Headlining Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville festivals.
Performing at major festivals across Europe and the UK next summer.
Fans hoping to see the band live will have to catch them at these large-scale events, as no solo dates are currently planned.
Korn’s Legacy and What’s Next
The band’s last release, Requiem, was widely praised for its introspective themes and dynamic sound. As Korn crafts their next chapter, they face the challenge of sustaining their legacy while pushing their music in new directions.
Welch acknowledged the difficulty of staying fresh after 30 years:
“Dude, it’s a trip 30 years later, man, to try to keep doing it,” he admitted.
For now, Korn’s followers will have to keep the faith, waiting for what’s sure to be another powerful addition to the band’s storied discography.
