Taylor Swift Brings Out Sabrina Carpenter for Surprise Duet of “Espresso” in New Orleans

Taylor Swift thrilled fans in New Orleans on Saturday, October 26, by bringing Sabrina Carpenter onstage for a surprise duet during her Eras Tour show. The unexpected collaboration included a mashup of Carpenter’s viral hit “Espresso” along with Swift’s “Is It Over Now?” and Carpenter’s “Please Please Please,” creating an unforgettable moment for fans.

Swift’s “Espresso” Moment and Viral Lyrics
Before launching into the mashup, Swift asked Carpenter if she could sing the popular lyrics to “Espresso.” A TikTok video captured the moment as Swift asked, “The first thing I was wondering… Can I do it?” Carpenter responded with a quick “You can do it!” Swift then dove into Carpenter’s line, “I’m working late, ‘cause I’m a singer,” prompting the crowd to join in unison.

Swift then seamlessly transitioned into her own vault track, “Is It Over Now?” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version), blending her lyrics, “Let’s fast forward to three hundred takeout coffees later,” with Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” for a heartfelt acoustic performance.

Carpenter’s Dramatic Stage Entrance
Swift had even called Carpenter from the stage before the duet, playfully asking her on speakerphone, “Why aren’t you here with us?” Carpenter replied that she could be there in “five seconds,” sending the crowd into a frenzy. Moments later, Carpenter made a grand entrance from beneath the stage, drawing cheers from the audience.

Full Circle Moment for the Duo
The duet was a significant moment for Swift and Carpenter, who had previously collaborated when Carpenter opened for Swift’s shows across Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia, and Singapore. This surprise performance marked the second time Carpenter joined Swift onstage, following their February duet in Australia.
