Ariana Grande has officially teamed up with Charli XCX on her highly anticipated remix collection, Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat. The collaboration, which includes Grande’s feature on the track “Sympathy Is a Knife”, is set to drop on October 11. Charli seemingly confirmed the feature in a cryptic Oct. 6 post on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, where she quoted lyrics from the song: “It’s a knife when they dissect your body on the front page/ It’s a knife when they won’t believe you/ Why should you explain?”
The album, which features previously unreleased collaborations with major artists like The 1975 and Bon Iver, is a reimagined take on Charli’s original Brat tracks. This exciting new edition has fans buzzing, with rumors about the tracklist circulating over the weekend. While Charli hasn’t commented on the rumored list, the neon green billboards she previewed hint at the massive star power behind this project.
More from Charli and Grande
The collaboration comes as Charli and Troye Sivan, another featured artist on Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, continue their co-headlining Sweat Tour, which runs through North America until Oct. 23 before heading to the U.K. in November.
Meanwhile, Ariana Grande has been keeping fans entertained ahead of the remix album’s release. Over the weekend, she dropped live performance videos of “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends” on YouTube, tracks from the deluxe live edition of her Eternal Sunshine album. Grande also hinted at taking a step back as she prepares for her upcoming role in the Wicked film, set to premiere in November.
“Wanted to surprise you all with one more Eternal Sunshine related something before I head back into my bubble and meet you over the rainbow next month…,” Grande wrote on Instagram, referring to her eagerly awaited Wicked debut.
