Beyoncé is headed for the 2025 Grammys with unexpected but exciting nods. Beyoncé’s latest album Cowboy Carter is vying for Best Country Album.
A source revealed that the Recording Academy’s screening committee determined the categories last week, setting the stage for a competitive Grammy season. Sabrina Carpenter, known for her recent chart-topping hits like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” is a frontrunner for Best New Artist alongside Chappell Roan, following her platinum album Short n’ Sweet and sold-out tour.
Beyoncé’s country album submission comes seven years after the Academy rejected her country-leaning track “Daddy Lessons” from Lemonade. Her latest record, featuring collaborations with country legends like Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson, highlights Black artists reclaiming their influence in genres they helped pioneer.
The Grammy ceremony, set for February 2, 2025, in Los Angeles, will reveal if Beyoncé can snag her first Best Country Album nomination. If successful, she will continue her streak of genre-defying achievements, building on her historic Grammy wins across R&B, rap, pop, and more.
Grammy nominations will be announced on November 8, with first-round voting beginning October 4.
