Future Secures Third No. 1 Album of 2024 with “Mixtape Pluto”

Future has once again claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, earning his 11th No. 1 album with Mixtape Pluto, which debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated Oct. 5. This marks the artist’s third No. 1 album in 2024 alone. The long-awaited album, which was released on Sept. 20, racked up 129,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. during its first week, driven largely by streaming activity, according to Luminate.

Earlier this year, Future also reached No. 1 with two collaborative albums with Metro Boomin: We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, both of which debuted at the top in April. Future’s three No. 1 albums in a six-month span mirror the rapid chart dominance of the Glee cast in 2010 and, if discounting soundtracks, the legendary Beatles in 1965-66.

With 11 No. 1 albums, Future is now tied with icons like Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, and Ye (formerly Kanye West). The only artists ahead of him on the list are The Beatles (19), Jay-Z and Taylor Swift (14 each), and Drake (13).

Other notable entries in the Billboard 200 include Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which returned to No. 2, and new releases from Katy Perry and Lil Tecca.
