Following Sean “Diddy” Combs’ recent incarceration, social media buzzed with theories suggesting that artists like Usher and Pink wiped their X (formerly Twitter) accounts to distance themselves from his legal troubles. However, Pink swiftly put an end to these rumors, using her Instagram and Facebook to clarify her actions.
“I don’t know why I became a headline this week, but I wiped my Twitter account on February 6!!!” Pink wrote. She emphasized that there was no truth to claims she deleted tweets recently due to any connection to Combs’ case. “I’ve met people in passing, but I’m not associated with any of the people mentioned.”
To back her statement, Pink shared a screenshot of her final tweet, posted back in February, which read, “This account will self-destruct in two minutes. Do it!!!!!!”
Rumors swirled online that some celebrities were scrambling to cover their tracks following Combs’ arrest on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. Usher, who has previously spoken about attending Combs’ parties, was also dragged into the speculation after his tweets disappeared. However, he explained that his account had been hacked, writing, “Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it!”
Combs remains in custody, considered a flight risk, while no trial date has been set.
