Dave Grohl Reveals New Daughter, Retains Divorce Lawyer Amid Family Turmoil

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed he recently welcomed a daughter outside of his 21-year marriage to Jordyn Blum. Grohl, 55, announced the news via Instagram on September 10, explaining that he plans to be a loving and supportive parent to his new child, though he has not disclosed the mother’s identity.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl shared in his statement. “I love my wife and children deeply, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We appreciate your respect for the privacy of all the children involved.”

Grohl and Blum, 48, who married in 2003, share three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10. Following Grohl’s announcement, their eldest daughter, Violet, deactivated her Instagram account.

Grohl and Blum first met in 2001 while she was a producer at MTV, and the couple wed two years later. Their relationship blossomed after Grohl’s bandmate, Taylor Hawkins, survived a near-fatal overdose in 2001, which gave Grohl a new perspective on life. Since then, Blum has been a source of inspiration for Grohl, who has written songs like “Statues” and “Burn Away” with her in mind.

The couple was last seen together in July at Wimbledon.
