Oasis Reunion Rumors Heat Up: Could a 2025 Tour Be on the Horizon?

The long-awaited Oasis reunion might finally be happening, with whispers of a 2025 tour gaining momentum. Fans who had given up hope of seeing the Gallagher brothers share the stage again are buzzing with excitement after recent social media teasers.

Both Liam and Noel Gallagher, along with the official Oasis accounts, shared a cryptic video on Sunday night featuring the date “27.08.24” in the style of the iconic Oasis logo. The clip, which also displayed “8am,” has fueled speculation that a major announcement is imminent.

Liam, never one to shy away from stirring the pot, spent Sunday engaging with fans on X (formerly Twitter), playfully hinting at the reunion and sharing news articles about the possibility. During his headline set at Reading Festival that evening, he dedicated the Oasis classic “Half The World Away” to his brother Noel, further stoking the rumors.

Reports suggest that if the reunion happens, Oasis could be set to break records with 10 shows each at Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park, eclipsing Taylor Swift’s recent record-setting eight nights at Wembley. There’s also talk that the band might headline Glastonbury 2025, revisiting the festival where their 2004 performance is remembered as a low point in their career.

Despite being apart for 15 years, Oasis’s music remains as popular as ever, with a new generation of fans discovering the band. Liam recently performed to sold-out crowds on a solo tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of Oasis’s debut album Definitely Maybe, and next year marks the 30th anniversary of their iconic album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?

Speculation abounds about which members might join the Gallaghers on stage if the reunion goes ahead. While original guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs has been a regular in Liam’s solo band, and latter-day members Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock are currently with Noel’s High Flying Birds, it’s unclear if former bassist Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan or his successor Andy Bell would be part of the lineup.

The Gallagher brothers’ famously tumultuous relationship has been a major barrier to a reunion, but there are signs that the frost might be thawing. Liam’s 2017 Christmas tweet to Noel hinted at a possible reconciliation, sparking rumors that have never fully gone away.

With a potential announcement as early as Tuesday, the question on every fan’s mind is whether Oasis will finally reunite and take the stage together once more.
