Post Malone Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut Ahead of Country Album Release

Post Malone, known for his genre-blending hits, has officially earned his place in the country music community. The 29-year-old artist made his highly anticipated debut at the Grand Ole Opry on Wednesday, August 14, just two days before the release of his country album F-1 Trillion.

Taking the stage alongside country legends Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery, Lainey Wilson, and The War and Treaty, Malone embraced his new role in the country genre. Brad Paisley, who invited Malone to perform, introduced him by saying, “He has a country heart and he is someone who immersed himself in the Nashville way. But you aren’t a country singer until you’ve played this.”

Dressed in a slim-fit pair of jeans, a white button-down shirt under a light blue blazer, and a white cowboy hat, Malone expressed his deep gratitude and nerves, saying, “I’m so terrified and beyond honored to be standing right in this spot right here,” referring to the famous circle of wood from the original Opry stage.

Malone’s performance included heartfelt moments with his fellow artists. Vince Gill told him, “I love your heart,” before they performed Gill’s classic “One More Last Chance.” John Michael Montgomery revealed that his daughter Madison, a huge fan of Malone, introduced him to Malone’s music, leading to a duet of “Be My Baby Tonight.”

Malone and Lainey Wilson debuted their upcoming collaborative track “Nosedive” from F-1 Trillion. Wilson shared a lighthearted exchange with Malone, who confessed to buying a picture of her from the Morrison Gallery, to which she responded with laughter and affection.

Brad Paisley joined Malone for their collaboration “Goes Without Saying,” which Paisley called “one of my favorite songs I’ve ever cut.” The night concluded with a powerful performance of “California Sober” by Malone and The War and Treaty, a track also featuring Chris Stapleton.

Malone’s Opry debut came just days before the release of F-1 Trillion on August 16, which includes collaborations with country heavyweights like Tim McGraw, Hank Williams Jr., Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, and more. The performance marked a significant milestone in Malone’s career, solidifying his place in the country music world.
