Michelle Pfeiffer to Star in New Yellowstone Spinoff “Madison”

The Yellowstone universe is expanding once again with a new chapter. On Thursday, August 8, Paramount announced that Michelle Pfeiffer will both produce and star in the latest spinoff from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, titled Madison. Originally named 2024, the series is set to explore the life of a New York City family living in Montana’s Madison River valley, offering a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection,” according to the release.

“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity, and grace,” said Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and President/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios. “She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”

Madison marks the seventh spinoff in the Yellowstone franchise, which originally debuted in 2018. The flagship series, led by Kevin Costner, is set to premiere its final season in November, although Costner has confirmed he will not appear in the second half of season 5 following rumors of his departure.

Previous Yellowstone spinoffs include 1883, a prequel featuring Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, and 1923, starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, which chronicles the Dutton family’s early years in Montana. Another spinoff, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, will focus on the iconic lawman and is set to merge with the 1883 storyline, though its premiere date has not yet been announced.

With Madison, the Yellowstone universe continues to expand, offering fans more compelling stories and characters rooted in the rugged landscape of Montana.
