Cardi B Claps Back at Joe Budden Over Criticism and Allegations

As fans eagerly await Cardi B’s sophomore album, the Grammy-winning rapper has taken to social media to address Joe Budden’s recent criticisms of her project rollout. During a heated Twitter Spaces session on Thursday, July 18, Cardi B fired back at Budden, making strong allegations against the rapper-turned-podcaster.

“Bro, I gave you a lap dance two times in Starlets. You was high as f–k. High as f–k on coke, n—a… I don’t give a f–k when people talk s–t about me,” Cardi B declared. “It’s the fact you always talk s–t about me, Joe Budden. Out of nowhere, you would think I did something to this n—a… For the past two years, this n—a has only talked bad things about me.”

Cardi B expressed her frustration with Budden’s tendency to compare her with other female rappers. “Every five or six months you compare another female rapper to me,” she said. “If you love these b—–s so much, why are you not talking about their album? You compare females to me that my worst records beat their best records. I don’t give a f–k about none of these b—–s.”

She further accused Budden of waiting for her album release just to criticize it. “But you really want my album to come out so you can criticize it,” she said. “Cause every time I drop something you don’t like it. Every single time a b—h drops something and they doing mediocre, you say they doing better than me… What are you talking about? The s–t is in motion. Merch is in motion, the box sets is in motion. You don’t know s–t.”

Budden had recently predicted on his podcast that Cardi B might never release another album, which she took offense to. “We’ll never get another album again. I am standing on it,” he said. “Cardi got something dropping with my man Rob[49] on Friday, but that’s what Cardi’s gonna be now. A single artist.”

Following Cardi B’s rant, Budden denied the cocaine use allegations and ever receiving a lap dance from her. He also vowed to stop covering her career. “I really just wanted an album from someone whose music I love,” he wrote on X, apologizing to Cardi. “She cursing me smooth out but she still hilarious lol…. I’m going to bed, I apologize to @iamcardib for whatever I did and peace and love to all.”

It’s been over six years since Cardi B’s debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” topped the Billboard 200 and won Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards. While the release date for her sophomore project remains unknown, Cardi is set to drop another feature, joining Rob49 for “On Dat Money,” on Friday, July 19.
