Iron Maiden Legends Finally Meet After Nearly 50 Years

Iron Maiden, one of the most enduring names in heavy metal, has a rich history that stretches back to the mid-1970s, thanks to bassist Steve Harris. However, a significant moment in the band’s legacy only recently occurred in 2024: the first-ever meeting between the two classic Maiden vocalists, Paul Di’Anno and Bruce Dickinson. This historic encounter was orchestrated by Stjepan Juras, Di’Anno’s manager, and took place in Zagreb, Croatia.

On July 13, as Dickinson was promoting his latest solo record, “The Mandrake Project,” he had the opportunity to meet his predecessor, Di’Anno, in person. Stjepan Juras expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “When we thought that nothing could surprise us anymore in the heavy metal world, tonight’s ‘miracle’ in Zagreb proved us all wrong. Paul Di’Anno and Bruce Dickinson met for the first time and had a friendly chat right in Zagreb.”

The meeting occurred after Dickinson’s show and coincided with Di’Anno’s live promotion and signing session for his first album with the Paul Di’Anno’s Warhorse project. Juras emphasized the significance of the event, noting, “This was an exceptional opportunity for the two icons of heavy metal music and the legendary singers of Iron Maiden to meet for the first time after almost half a century. This is an exceptional night for the entire Iron Maiden community and for metal fans around the world, because it shows that Iron Maiden and everyone who was in that band is one big family.”

Di’Anno, who is currently in Croatia addressing medical issues, continues his musical journey with the Paul Di’Anno’s Warhorse project. The band, featuring Hrvoje Madiraca and Ante Pupačić on guitars, has recorded a 10-song album titled “Warhorse,” which includes a lineup of guest musicians.

This meeting between Di’Anno and Dickinson is a monumental moment for Iron Maiden fans, symbolizing unity and the enduring legacy of one of metal’s greatest bands.
