Drake Reignites Feud with Kendrick Lamar on Sexyy Red’s New Track

Just when the heated battle that dominated hip-hop over the past few months seemed to be over, Drake has reignited tensions with his appearance on Sexyy Red’s latest release, “In Sexyy We Trust.” His verse on the track “U My Everything” is the latest development in his ongoing feuds with Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin.

Drake, who had been engaged in a contentious back-and-forth with Lamar, also had public issues with Metro Boomin. Metro had featured Lamar on the Drake diss track “Like That” back in March. On “U My Everything,” Drake raps over Metro’s “BBL Drizzy” beat, which the producer had previously released online, encouraging his followers to create their own versions of the song.

“Me and the surgeon got history / I changed a lot of girls’ lives for real, they need a new body, they hittin’ me,” Drake raps as the beat switches to “BBL Drizzy.” He continues, “BBL Drizzy, they want a new body, they ask me for it / The last one drunk, he did it for free ’cause I sent over so many passports for him, for real.”

Drake’s lines are a clear troll. “BBL Drizzy” was initially a term Rick Ross used to accuse Drake of having cosmetic surgery. Metro Boomin took that as inspiration to create his own diss beat, which he released on Soundcloud on May 5.

The tension between Drake and Lamar had simmered down after the two released a series of diss tracks in quick succession a few weekends ago. Their songs contained deeply personal swipes, with accusations ranging from domestic abuse to pedophilia. The beef seemingly culminated with Drake’s “The Heart Pt. 6,” where he expressed fatigue over the ongoing battle.

“I’m not gonna lie, this shit was some, some good exercise, like It’s good to get out, get the pen working,” Drake said in the spoken-word outro of the song. Neither he nor Lamar had released a follow-up track in the weeks that followed, suggesting that the feud had temporarily subsided.

Drake’s latest verse on “U My Everything” proves that the rivalry is far from over, ensuring that fans and the hip-hop community remain on the edge of their seats, anticipating the next move in this ongoing saga.
