Dolly Parton’s Got a ‘Southern Sweets’ Doughnut Collection at Krispy Kreme

At 78, Dolly Parton is as relevant as she’s ever been: releasing a 30-track album, performing at an NFL halftime show, and being featured on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter. Now, this icon of pop culture is teaming up with an icon in the fast food space: Krispy Kreme has announced its new collaboration with Parton, a Southern Sweets Doughnut Collection featuring four new flavors inspired by Southern desserts.

as Food & Wine reports, the new collection, sold as a dozen in a pink Dolly-themed box, features some elaborate flavors and designs. The Dolly Dazzler Doughnut is an Original Glazed Doughnut with strawberry icing, glitter sprinkles, and a pink butterfly made of molded chocolate. The Peachy Keen Cobbler Doughnut features peach filling, brown sugar icing, and crunchy cobbler topping. The Banana Puddin’ Pie Doughnut is filled with banana pudding, topped with yellow icing and white swirls, and finished with a wafer cookie. The Chocolate Crème Pie Doughnut is an Original Glazed with chocolate brownie cream, vanilla whipped topping, and cookie crumbles on top. “These doughnuts remind me of home,” Parton said in the press release. “So, I’m excited for folks to share them with their own family and friends. They’re pretty sweet, if I do say so myself!”

Parton knows a thing or two about sweets. Since 2022, she has partnered with Duncan Hines on a line of grocery store baking mixes, which have proved to be so popular that the line just keeps extending. The lineup now includes mixes for cakes, muffins, pancakes, cornbread, biscuits, and brownies, all in bright pink boxes emblazoned with the superstar’s likeness. And when Parton lent her star power to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams for a 2021 release of the new super-limited-edition Strawberry Pretzel Pie flavor, the pints sold out in minutes, the Jeni’s website crashed, and most of us were left only to imagine how delicious the ice cream might be. (The flavor came back in 2022 with a more robust inventory and less commotion.)

If you don’t live near a Krispy Kreme, you might still be able to find the Southern Sweets doughnuts at your local grocery store, as Krispy Kreme will deliver them fresh daily to select retailers. See if your supermarket is on the list by clicking here. (Note that grocery stores will sell them in boxes of six, not 12, and will not include the Peachy Keen Cobbler Doughnut.)

These doughnuts will only be available for a limited time, after which you can console yourself by buying some Dolly Parton baking mixes, paging through some Dolly Parton cookbooks, puttering around the kitchen with some Dolly Parton cookware, or booking a trip to the new HeartSong Lodge & Resort extension of the Dollywood theme park brand.
