H&M has announced its first designer collaboration of 2024. For spring, the Swedish giant tapped Korean designer Rok Hwang, creative director of emerging London-based label Rokh, for delightfully deconstructed wardrobe staples.
As Refinery 29 reports, the collection features elevated basics that boast modifiable details. You’ll find detachable-hemline cocktail dresses, asymmetric skirts with button-up seams, double-layer trench coats, and jackets that can be worn backwards. “I always focus on making my collections as timeless as possible, and one way of doing that is with customizable details,” Hwang said in a press release. “To see my clothes being interpreted by people in their own way is one of my greatest pleasures, and I can’t wait to see how customers engage with this fun and dynamic collection for H&M.”
The Rokh x H&M collaboration highlights the Korean designer’s signatures, from avant-garde detailing, complex tailoring, and layering techniques to detachable elements. Beyond clothing, this collaboration includes playful accessories like matching floral gloves and tights, two-tone jewelry, clear heels, and a monogrammed briefcase. The 58-piece collection, which lands in select H&M stores and online on April 18, brings Rokh’s reconstructed look to double-layer trench coats, detachable-hem dresses and reworked trousers. Prices start at $35 and go up to $639.
“Rokh is at the forefront of a new wave of Korean designers whose conceptual-yet-wearable clothes are captivating fashion right now,” Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor and head of design womenswear at H&M, added. “We’re proud to present a curated edit of designer Rok Hwang’s adaptable wardrobe classics, and we can’t wait to see how our customers wear them.”
Rokh joins a roster of H&M collaborators that includes Rabanne, Mugler, Balmain, Versace and Isabel Marant. Ahead of the launch next month, you can view the collection on H&M’s YouTube channel.
