In an electrifying turn of events for the rock world, Rob Zombie has welcomed back Rob “Blasko” Nicholson to his band, marking a significant reunion after years apart. This announcement comes hot on the heels of Matt “Piggy D.” Montgomery’s departure, who had been a staple in Zombie’s ensemble for nearly two decades. Rob Zombie took to Instagram to share the exciting news, declaring the return of the “original four-string Zombie monster” and promising a “crazy summer of mayhem.”
Blasko’s history with Rob Zombie stretches back to the late ’90s, contributing his bass prowess to the band’s early success with albums like “Hellbilly Deluxe” and “The Sinister Urge.” His decision to join Ozzy Osbourne’s band in 2006 marked the end of his initial stint with Zombie, making his return now all the more momentous.
The reshuffle doesn’t stop with Blasko’s comeback. The band recently saw the exit of John 5, another long-time member, who left to join Mötley Crüe. Mike Riggs steps in to fill those shoes, rejoining Zombie alongside drummer Ginger Fish, solidifying a lineup that fans eagerly anticipate seeing live.
Rob Zombie is set to bring this revitalized lineup on the road for the “Freaks On Parade” tour in 2024, co-headlining with Alice Cooper and supported by MINISTRY and FILTER. This tour promises to be an unforgettable showcase of rock’s enduring power and spectacle, as Zombie and his reassembled crew prepare to electrify audiences across the country.
