Lil Nas X has expressed his readiness to move on from the controversy surrounding his 2021 music video “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” The video, which featured him descending into hell and engaging with Satan, became a topic of satire in Dave Chappelle’s latest comedy special.
Chappelle humorously imagined Lil Nas X’s childhood aspirations, linking them to the video’s provocative content. Reacting to Chappelle’s skit, Lil Nas X humorously remarked on Twitter about the need to let go of the past, jokingly referring to his “breakup” with the devil and likening the public’s fixation to that of children dealing with divorce.
