New Era for Dallas Mavericks: Adelson and Dumont Families Acquire Majority Stake

The Dallas Mavericks are entering a new chapter as the NBA Board of Governors has greenlit the sale of the team’s controlling interest from Mark Cuban to the families of Dr. Miriam Adelson and Sivan and Patrick Dumont. Patrick Dumont, holding a key position at Las Vegas Sands Corp., is set to assume the role of the Mavericks’ Governor.

This landmark deal, valued at approximately $3.5 billion, will see Cuban maintain a share and continue overseeing basketball operations. The change in ownership, marking a significant moment in the franchise’s history, is expected to complete this week, signaling a fresh direction under the new stewardship.
