In a pivotal game against the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors’ forward Draymond Green faced an unexpected exit, leaving his team at a disadvantage in their 119-116 loss. Green was ejected following a flagrant foul 2, which occurred 8:23 into the third quarter. The incident involved Green swinging and inadvertently striking Jusuf Nurkic of the Suns in the head.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who hadn’t seen a replay of the incident, chose not to comment on the foul itself. However, he acknowledged the significant impact of Green’s ejection, saying, “Huge swing. We kind of felt good about having him at the five (spot), spreading the floor… It changed the lineup around.”
This ejection marks Green’s third this season, tying his personal record. Notably, Green had previously been suspended for five games for putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock, with his history of similar incidents influencing the suspension’s length.
As Green awaits a review from the league office, Kerr emphasized his importance to the team. “We need Draymond. He knows that,” Kerr stated, underscoring the need for Green to maintain his poise for his team’s sake.
