Rucker’s journey to stardom began as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Hootie & the Blowfish, a band he formed in 1986 with classmates from the University of South Carolina. The band soared in popularity, selling over 25 million albums globally. Their album “Cracked Rear View” remains one of the best-selling studio albums ever.

In a bold move, Rucker embarked on a solo career after two decades with Hootie & the Blowfish.
