Subway wants to offer you a sweet treat. A very large sweet treat. Just in time for National Cookie Day on December 4, the sandwich chain is set to offer perhaps its most innovative offering in years — a footlong chocolate chip cookie to go along with your footlong sandwich.
As Food and Wine reports, ahead of the nationwide debut in 2024, patrons of certain Subways can get a bite of the footlong cookie before anyone else at select shops in Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and New York. Those will be transformed from standard Subways to a one-day-only “Cookieway.” And the best news yet is that the cookie will be free with the purchase of any footlong sub between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. local time — while supplies last, naturally. The participating shops can be found at the following addresses:
- Chicago: 604 S Wabash Ave., Suite D, Chicago, IL 60605
- Dallas: 1222 Commerce Street, Suite 150, Dallas, TX 75202
- Miami: 2795 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33140
- New York City: 545 8 Ave., New York, NY 10018
Real Subway fans know this isn’t the first time it’s offered the massive cookie treat. It unveiled the same limited run of the footlong cookie in 2022 — and saw them sell out in less than two hours. But that cookie was only offered in a single shop in Miami, so perhaps this slight expansion can help more fans get in on the fun before the big rollout in 2024.
“The overwhelming response we received from fans around the country last year let us know that we needed to make the footlong cookie a permanent addition to our menu,” Paul Fabre, the senior vice president of culinary and innovation at Subway, shared in a statement. “At Cookieway this year, our guests will get a sneak peek of an even better footlong cookie: thick, gooey, packed with chocolate chips, and served warm – right out of the oven. It’s the perfect pairing with your favorite footlong sub and may even become your favorite footlong after the first bite.”
If you can’t make it to one of these “Cookieway” locations, that’s OK. For an unspecified limited time, Subway MVP Rewards members can get a free cookie with the purchase of a six-inch or footlong sub using a bonus reward. And, every cookie sold in December will go toward supporting the Subway Cares Foundation, which offers tuition assistance to “sandwich artists” (the company’s name for its in-store employees) working in shops across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Puerto Rico. So go ahead and get two cookies instead. It’s for a good cause.
