The Marvel Cinematic Universe is on the brink of welcoming a new Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, with three-time Emmy nominee Pedro Pascal reportedly in talks for the role in the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ film. This development follows much speculation about who would lead the iconic superhero team.
Sources close to Deadline reveal that while a deal is not yet finalized, negotiations are moving positively, with scheduling being the main concern. Pascal, known for his diverse roles, has a busy schedule ahead, including ‘Gladiator 2’ and the HBO series ‘The Last Of Us’, both expected to commence production soon.
Marvel Studios, helmed by president Kevin Feige, is yet to comment on the casting. With Richards’ casting in progress, attention now turns to filling the remaining team roles. The film, directed by Matt Shakman, is in pre-production at Pinewood Studios in England and aims to start shooting early next year.
Pascal’s recent achievements include his Emmy-nominated performance in ‘The Last of Us’ and hosting a popular episode of ‘Saturday Night Live’. He is represented by CAA, and his involvement in Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ marks a significant addition to his already impressive career.
