Country singer Jon Pardi was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry on April 30th during his set at the Stagecoach Festival in California. The announcement was made by country legend and Opry member Dierks Bentley, who surprised Pardi by walking on stage with an Opry microphone stand.
Pardi, who has had multiple hits on the country music charts, was visibly emotional as he accepted the invitation, saying “This is an amazing opportunity and I’m so grateful for it.”
The Grand Ole Opry is a weekly country music stage concert in Nashville, Tennessee, that has been in operation since 1925. Membership in the Opry is considered one of the highest honors a country music artist can receive.
Pardi’s invitation to join the Opry comes on the heels of the release of his latest album, “Heartache Medication,” which was released in 2019 and includes the hit title track.
Fans of Pardi and country music alike are thrilled to see him receive this honor and eagerly await his official induction into the Grand Ole Opry.
