The New York Mets played against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, resulting in a 3-0 win for the Mets. Marcus Stroman of the Mets pitched eight innings and did not allow any runs. The only hits by the Cardinals came in the first inning, and they were unable to capitalize on them. The Mets, on the other hand, managed to score one run in the first inning, and two more in the fifth inning. Pete Alonso hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning, which sealed the deal for the Mets.
This win marks the second in a row for the Mets, who have been struggling this season. However, this recent success may be a sign of a turnaround for the team. With more games left to play, the Mets have the opportunity to continue their winning streak and climb the ranks in the National League standings.
