Kathy Griffin, the comedian and actress, has been diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), which she believes is due to the trauma she experienced after a controversial photoshoot that left her career in tatters. Griffin was investigated by the Secret Service after posing for a photo holding a fake severed head of President Donald Trump.
The photo led to public outrage, death threats, and she lost several jobs and endorsement deals. In a recent interview with Today, Griffin spoke openly about her C-PTSD diagnosis and how she is undergoing treatment to manage her symptoms, including anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
She also hopes that speaking publicly about her diagnosis will help break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and encourage others to seek help. Griffin is known for her stand-up comedy, reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, and her appearances on TV shows and movies.
