Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, gave her final performance on November 7, 2017, at the Elton John AIDS Foundation benefit in New York City. The 75-year-old singer, who had been battling pancreatic cancer, gave a stunning rendition of her hit song “Natural Woman” that left the audience in awe.
Despite her illness, Franklin showed no signs of weakness as she took to the stage in a floor-length fur coat and sang with her signature power and emotion. Her voice was strong and clear, and she received a standing ovation from the crowd.
Sadly, this performance would be her last before her death on August 16, 2018. But it was a fitting finale for a legendary career that spanned over six decades and made her one of the most influential singers in music history.
Aretha Franklin’s final performance will forever be remembered as a testament to her incredible talent and enduring spirit.
