Back in October of 2022, Mick Mars, founding Mötley Crüe guitarist made an announcement that he was retiring from the road, and the band named Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 as his replacement. Now the band has put out the very first official band photo including John 5 in the lineup via Instagram.
John 5 was though to replace Mick Mars almost right away due to his relationship with the band. Mötley Crüe quickly confirmed and stated, “No doubt will it take an absolutely outstanding musician to fill Mick’s shoes so we are grateful that our good friend John 5 has agreed to come on board and join us moving forward.”
John 5 will perform for his official debut with Mötley Crüe at a pair of shows in Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 10th and 11th. Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard are also getting ready for a 2023 World Tour with the North American portion featuring special guest Alice Cooper.
