Patrick Mahomes Had A Classy Message For Joe Burrow after Chiefs’ Won the AFC Championship

After the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship on Sunday night the two quarterbacks showed nothing but respect for each other. Despite the matchup having a rather tense ending with a field goal for the Chiefs that was due to an unnecessary roughness penalty by the Bengals’ second year pro Joseph Ossai.

As Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow embraced in a handshake Mahomes stated, “Many more, dog, many more. Hell of a game. You have a hell of a career, dog,” to which Burrow replied, “You too, brother, Go win it now.”

Prior to this matchup, Burrow had been 3 and 0 in his career against Mahomes. This influenced some Bengals players to refer to Arrowhead Stadium as “Burrowhead.” At the time, Burrow had stated, “I just think that’s what makes football fun, It’s all love at the end of the day. They know the respect that we have for them and we know the respect that they have for us. It’s an intense, emotional game and things like that are going to happen but I think that’s why the game is fun.”

Mahomes will now have until February 12th to recover from a high-ankle sprain before him and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
