Fans of the NFL were flabbergasted when the Kansas City Chiefs were able to redo a third down opportunity in a critical moment of the AFC Championship on Sunday night. A third down with just over ten minutes left in the game, the Cincinnati Bengals held for what was thought to have been a fourth down. Although, officials stated a whistle was blown prior to the ball being snapped and instead of punting the Chiefs had another shot at converting on third down.
Apparently the extreme noise at Arrowhead Stadium had prevented the other officials from hearing the whistle. Luckily the Bengals held strong and were able to force a punt a few plays later. Officiating problems were also a part of the NFC Championship between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers. The questionable calls are keeping many fans of the NFL frustrated on social media.
