Kansas City Chiefs Are Facing the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 31-7, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, on Sunday, January 29th moving them on to Super Bowl LVII. Marking the first time they have done so since their 2017-18 season. The 49ers were left without Brock Purdy after he suffered from a elbow injury in the first quarter. Josh Johnson, the fourth string quarterback, took-over until he was concussed in the third quarter and Purdy had to return but struggled to accomplish anything.

Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are also advancing to Super Bowl LVII after a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Before half-time Mahomes found Travis Kelce for the first touchdown of the night to take a 13-3 lead. Cincinnati cut the deficit to 13-6 before half-time. The Bengals Joe Burrow found wide receiver Tee Higgins for a 27 yard touchdown to tie the game at 13. Soon after, Mahomes found Marquez Valdes-Scantling to take the lead back.

Not long after the Bengals scored on a 2 yard touchdown run by running back Samaje Perine tying the game back up. The Chiefs were able to sack Joe Burrow on third down and got the ball back with less then a minute left and the score tied at 20. Skyy Moore was able to return the Bengals punt 29 yards to give the Chiefs good field position. Mahomes then scrambled as he went out of bound and Bengals defensive end Joseph Ossai pushed him and got called for a 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty thta put the Chiefs into field goal range.

After that, Kansas City kicker Harrison Butker put up a 45 yard field goal to send the Chiefs to the Super Bowl for the third time in four seasons.
