It was recently announced that Mary J. Blige, Steve Lacy, and Lizzo will be performing at the 65th Grammy Awards located at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. While other performers include, Bad Bunny, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Kim Petras and Sam Smith.
Mary J. Blige last performed at the Grammy’s in 2015 with Sam Smith as they performed a duet rendition of Smith’s single “Stay With Me.” While Blige’s last solo performance at the Grammys was back in 2007 when she sang “Be Without You” from The Breakthrough. Meanwhile, Blige was nominated for six Grammy Awards this year including, Album of the Year (Good Morning Gorgeous – Deluxe), Best R&B Performance (“Here With Me“), Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Good Morning Gorgeous”), Best R&B Song (“Good Morning Gorgeous”), and Best R&B Album (Good Morning Gorgeous – Deluxe).
Blige released a deluxe version of Good Morning Gorgeous on May sixth, 2022. The version includes “Good Morning Gorgeous (Remix)” with H.E.R., who co-wrote the original track along with Lucky Daye, Tiara Thomas and D’Mile.
While Lacy, has four Grammy nominations this year as his Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “bad Habit” is up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Pop Solo Performance. He also has a solo album titled, Gemini Rights, that is nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album.
The 65th Grammy Award is set to air live Sunday, February fifth, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on CBS and streamed live via Paramount+.
