The Paramount+ musical prequel, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will go into the origins of the girl group from the 1978 movie Grease. The story is supposedly set to comment on both the 70s and the 50s from a 2023 perspective. The show takes place four years prior to the vents of the movie Grease and follows four students who become the founding members of the Pink Ladies.
The prequel is going to be released this Spring, on April 6th. Marisa Davila is playing Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells as Olivia, Ari Notartomaso as Cynthia, and Tricia Fukuhara as Nancy. The cast will also include Snahel Bailey as hazel, Madison Thompson as Susan, Johnathon Nieves as Richie, Jason Schmidt as Buddy, Maxwell Huntington-Cooper as Wally, and Jackie Hoffman as Assistant Principal McGee.
Meanwhile, songwriter Justin Tranter will be handling the songs when it comes to music and choreography.
