Tanya Tucker, Dierks Bentley and Others to Perform at George Jones Tribute Show

Some of the biggest names in Country music will be attending the celebration of the life and music of George Jones this April. The event titled, Still Playin’ Possum: Music and Memories of George Jones is set to occur at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama on April 24th, 2023. The event will only last one night and marks the ten year anniversary of the country legend’s death in 2013 at the age of 81.

The event has a roster of features that includes Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Tanya Tucker, Trace Adkins, Justin Moore, Jamey Johnson, Lorrie Morgan, Michael Ray, Tracy Byrd, Sam Moore, Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Lawrence. More performers will be announced at a later date. The event will also be filmed so that it can air as a television special later on.

Jones’ widow made a statement that reads, “George Jones died on April 26, 2013, in Nashville, Tennessee. It will be ten years since he left us with just his songs, so to produce this night of music to honor his legacy is perfectly fitting, George made history and influenced artists from all genres and many of them will celebrate with us in April. The night will bring lots of emotion for the fans, our family, and anyone who just loved Country Music.”

Tickets for the tribute show will be on sale this Thursday, December 22nd, at 10 AM CT. Prices for tickets will range from $25 to $200 for a VIP upgrade that gives fans admission to a special dinner with Nancy Jones and other special guests on April 24th.
