The Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots were only a kneel away from reaching overtime, then the Patriots decided to pull a very dumb move that in hindsight they regret. After Jakobi Meyers attempted to keep the play alive and lateraled the ball to a teammate, it was then intercepted by Chandler Jones who took it to the end zone for a 30-24 win over the Patriots.
With only three seconds left on the clock and New England on their own 45 yard line, on 3rd and 10 Mac Jones handed off the ball to Rhamondre Stevenson who found an opening. However, he decided to try and keep the play alive and pitched it to Meyers, whop then turned over the ball. Jones picked it off at the Patriots 48 yard line and quickly stiff armed Mac Jones to the ground before walking into the end zone.
A win for the Patriots would have been massive for their playoff chances, instead its a massive loss. Their loss also keeps the New York Jets hopes alive. The 6-8 Raiders technically still have a chance, but need a lot of help in order to make it.
