The Weeknd is Joining Producer Metro Boomin’s New Track ‘Creepin’

The Weeknd is a huge fan of Mario Winans and his 2004 “I Don’t Wanna Know.” He took lines from the record and repurposes them for “Creepin,” a track off of producer Metro Boomin’s new album, Heroes & Villains. The track features a verse from rapper 21 savage as well. The track details a lover that has learned of his presumed faithful lover doing him wrong and rather then confront it he wants to act oblivious to it.

Winans wrote on Instagram, “This album is a Masterpiece! Grateful to contribute on this album with a few records.” Winans’ signature hit “I Don’t Wanna Know” is the lead single off of his album, Hurt No More. He first released “I Don’t Wanna Know” as a lone track before reissuing it featuring Diddy and Enya. The Fugees later used it for their 1996 hit “Ready or Not.” “I Don’t Wanna Know,” was also certified gold by the RIAA and peaked at Number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Number two on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Doing even better on the UK Official Singles Chart, making it’s way to number one in the winter of 2004 and spending two weeks at the top.

Winans and The Weeknd have a musical relationship, with Winans co-producing “After Hours,” the title track from The Weeknd’s fourth album, along with The Weeknd, Illangelo, and DaHeala. The track hit number 20 on the Hot 100 the week of March 7th, 2020. It was also certified platinum by the RIAA, with over one million equivalent units sold.
